HOW ZAITZEFF BURGERS GOT STARTED
In 2003 Zaitzeff Burgers opened on 72 Nassau Street from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week. A year later New York Magazine choose Zaitzeff as one of the top 100 places to eat in New York City.
In 2007 after college and looking for a job Pete helped Zach start 18 Avenue B. Zach asked Pete not to take an offer he received to work on Wall Street.
In 2010 Zach and Pete established Zaitzeff at 711 Second Avenue.
Zaitzeff never compromises quality. Zaitzeff uses fresh, grass fed, hormone and antibiotic free beef that comes from small cooperatives in Washington and Oregon. We work together and are very proud of our stores.
OUR FAMILY
Amine raised her family in Westchester. In terms of mileage she has driven to the moon and back two and a half times. She continues to work seven days a week.
Zach cycles, climbs mountains and rests when not working. He summited Mt. Everest in May 2011 and can eat for free in Kathmandu.
Pete runs marathons when not working. He went to Morocco in April 2011 to run 150 miles in the Sahara. He can pretty much fix anything. He is the event planner for 18 Avenue B and he is the one to go to if you need anything done fast.
